Faster AI coding alternatives

Using AI for coding is such a huge help because it basically does half the work for you. The only thing is that the really smart models take forever to think once a project gets complicated. Claude Code is a beast for logic but it gets so sluggish sometimes. Maybe my machine isn't beefy enough to handle it well but I really need something that feels like a lightweight version of it. Does anyone have anything in mind that's a bit faster?

Staring at a loading screen when you're trying to stay in the zone is a total vibe killer. It feels like the tech is moving forward but the actual apps are just getting heavier and harder to run. You could try running your sessions through a simpler terminal setup to cut out the extra bloat. Using a command-line interface usually keeps the response times much tighter than those fancy plugins.
