Flying to Colombia for business, need a rental car - Howkard - 03-19-2026

Heading to Colombia in a few days for supply negotiations with a local manufacturer. Staying in Bogota but the facility is about thirty miles outside the city, so I'll be making that run back and forth for several days straight. Public transport is not something I want to figure out on the fly in a country I've never been to, and showing up to negotiations in some random cab every morning doesn't feel right either. What's the best way to sort out a decent rental car over there?

Booking in advance always beats figuring it out on arrival, prices are lower when you compare options ahead of time and you show up knowing exactly what you're getting instead of taking whatever's available at the counter. Expedia and Rentalcars.com both cover Colombia well and let you filter by pickup location, car type and price range before you even board the plane.

Airport counters lock you into whatever rates they feel like charging that day, and with a multi-day business trip the difference adds up fast. Private owners and smaller operators tend to offer much better deals, and the selection is usually more interesting than the standard fleet. Easiest way to sort out a car rental in Colombia is here https://getrentacar.com/en-US/colombia . Rates there tend to come out noticeably lower than going through the big chains directly.
